Revealed: How much prize money each player scooped in Danish Golf Championship

The Furesø Golf Klub in Copenhagen, Denmark hosted the Danish Golf Championship, with a $2.75 million purse on the line.
English golfer Marco Penge sneaked past home favourite Rasmus Hojgaard on the final day of action at the Furesø Golf Klub, to win the Danish Golf Championship by a stroke.
Hojgaard, missed his chance to climb into Ryder Cup automatic qualifying positions after blowing a four shot lead on the back nine.
The Dane dropped four strokes in four holes from the tenth, and allowed Penge to take a two-shot lead approaching the 18th.
Hojgaard clawed some ground back with an eagle putt from 10 feet, but Penge kept his cool sink a three foot birdie putt and seal a second European tour title of the season.
After the first round, Penge had set a record-breaking seven-under 64 to lead by two at the end of play.
Penge making late Ryder Cup push
The Danish Golf Championship was Penge’s second title of the season, after the Hainan Classic in April, and helped him top the Closing Swing rankings, which earned him a bonus of $200,000.
“I’ve been playing so well this year. Coming back from my time off, to have won so soon (after that) and to achieve what I’ve achieved since I won,” Penge said.
“My main goal after I won was to not get complacent and drop off basically. My team have been a massive support for me, my family, everyone involved really.
“It’s made me keep striving for more and this is amazing. And Rasmus, he’s some player, to hit the shot he hit into the last and make eagle and basically make me have to win it was unbelievable.
“We were both pushing as hard as we could, and I was the winner at the end of the day, but I’ve loved every minute of playing two round of golf with him.”
Penge admitted he has an eye on sneaking into the Ruder Cup squad.
He continued: “It’s the reason why I’m here. I’m planning to play six weeks on the trot and give it my all to try and do something.
“I’ve got my own little goals in my mind and my own drivers. I’m just trying to play as well as I can every week and see what happens, really.”
