A bunker doesn’t need to be big to be a nightmare – a lesson Sam Burns learned the hard way at the Scottish Open.
The American found himself in one of the Renaissance’s trickier bunkers and it cost him four strokes.
Burns has been a PGA Tour player since 2019 and has established himself as one of the world’s top players, but he got himself into quite a pickle here.
His first attempt to get out of the bunker lodged itself in the thick fescue grass.
And he couldn’t get out of that predicament without landing his ball right back in the bunker.
