WATCH: Bride wins a closest to the pin competition in her wedding dress
A wedding with a closest to the pin competition sounds like a blast. But spare a thought for those who lost out to this bride in her wedding dress.
The blushing bride takes a bow after her incredible effort over a water hazard no less.
We don’t recommend wedding dresses as the best course attire and it’s likely your local course might take issue if you and the boys show up in Vera Wang gowns for your next fourball.
This is still pretty incredible though.
Golf attire tips
If it’s hot outside and you’ve opted to wear shorts on the golf course, make sure they sit just above your kneecap. Anything longer appears sloppy, while anything shorter is frequently viewed as unacceptable.
Leave the cargo shorts at home. They do not appear professional, and many private golf courses have dress code restrictions.
Golf shoes with soft spikes will give both comfort and traction on the course, especially if you’re playing all 18 holes. A well-fitting pair of shoes will help to stabilise your swing.
Many golf courses do not allow trainers, tennis shoes or any form of sneaker.
Oversized apparel looks untidy and might impede your swing. Wearing neat, sharp-looking golf clothing not only appears more professional, but it also allows for greater flexibility and range of motion when swinging freely.
You don’t want your socks to be inconvenient or unattractive. Make sure you wear socks that reach the ankle. Anything higher isn’t advised as they may begin to slip down and become uncomfortable as the round progresses.
The collared polo shirt is another wardrobe classic for golfers. Many of them are made of materials that allow for ventilation on hot days, helping you keep cool. Most uncollared shirts are just not permitted on golf courses. They can appear overly casual.
