WATCH: An unlikely crowd as golfer plays it where it lies at nearby wedding
If there is one thing out on course that can always be certain, your buddies will make you play your ball where it lies.
We’re all accustomed to a wayward tee shot and having to search for our runaway ball.
If the ball is found and in an unplayable lie, you may ask for free relief or drop into a more favourable spot under penalty.
However, for one golfer, his stroke didn’t find the base of a tree trunk but a nearby wedding!
The stray shot at The Club at Lac La Belle couldn’t have given the golfer a better up and down to the pin.
With the chance to send the unlikely crowd into a frenzy, he took out his his 60-degree wedge.
Interrupting proceedings at the nearby wedding would often be enough to make a golfer shy away and take a drop on the fairway.
But, the wedding goers embraced the unusual circumstance in the best way possible, giving the golfer an experience he’d never forget.
Those at the event, clearly merry with celebrations in full swing, flipped into full Ryder Cup mode.
The golfer, likely not expecting such a crowd watching his stroke when he arrived at the club that day, stepped up to the plate at the heart of the wedding.
What an opportunity, the prospect to chip in with everyone watching. The pressure was on.
Screams of ‘get in the hole’ from the entourage followed the stroke as it was nuked 50 yards past the pin.
Not the ideal result, but one he will remember for the rest of his life.
The club in Wisconsin has been rated the sixth most fun golf course in the United States of America by GolfDigest, and with scenes like this, you can understand why.
