Phil Mickelson wraps up record-equalling fifth Pebble Beach win

Phil Mickelson returned to Pebble Beach Golf Links on Monday morning to complete a comfortable three-stroke victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Not even an overnight delay could prevent him from coasting to the most comfortable of wins thanks a closing seven-under-par 65.
It’s the 48-year-old’s 44th PGA Tour victory, and sees him equal Mark O’Meara’s record of five Pebble Beach titles.
Mickelson was a little miffed on Sunday evening when playing partner Paul Casey opted to call it a day due to bad light with just two holes remaining, but he didn’t let his frustration deter when he returned on Monday morning, birdying the par-5 18th after a lay-up to finish three strokes clear of Casey on 19 under par.

Casey also birdied the final hole for a 71 and second place on 16 under.
Mickelson and Casey were the only players who did not complete the event on Sunday night.
Fourteen of Mickelson’s victories have now come in his native California, and the veteran’s impressive early season form has many now seeing him as a genuine prospect for the year’s first major at Augusta in a couple of months’ time.
