Poulter expertly trolls US Ryder Cup team, Koepka and Spieth respond

Ian Poulter couldn’t resist having one final jab at the Americans over this year’s Ryder Cup result – and Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth couldn’t help but respond.
Poulter took to Twitter on Friday, using a rather roundabout way to remind Team USA who won at Le Golf National – not that there’s any chance they’ve forgotten yet.
It started with a photo of Poulter wearing a “Beat Europe” t-shirt, with a caption that asked: “Can anyone spot the mistake in this photo?” he asked.

An hour later, Poulter delivered the punchline, having added the word “couldn’t” in marker, so the shirt then read “Couldn’t beat Europe.”
“It’s ok folks I fixed the mistake. How does it look now?” he quipped.

Poulter’s little dig drew responses from both Spieth and Koepka, though this being the modern era, they took the form of emojis, with Spieth replying with a roll of the eyes and Koepka offering several tears of laughter.
Poulter then replied to Spieth with a friendly kiss.
Rory McIlroy also got involved, offering a mixture of thumbs up and heart-shaped eyes.
