Zanotti struck by ball at KLM Open

Paraguayan golfer Fabrizio Zanotti was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning after being struck on the head by a ball in the first round of the KLM Open in Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
The 31-year-old was on the 16th fairway of the Kennemer Golf Club at the time and was hit by a ball struck from the 14th tee.
Zanotti, who won the BMW International Open earlier this season, received treatment on the course and was then taken to hospital.
He started from the 10th tee and was level par after six holes when he was truck. Play was subsequently suspended.
France’s Gary Stal was leading when play was suspended, four-under after 12 holes thanks to birdies on the third, fourth, sixth and eighth.
England’s Paul Waring and South Africa’s Thomas Aiken were tied for second on three-under after 13 holes.
