Woods withdraws from Desert Classic

Tiger Woods has withdrawn from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic before the start of the second round due to back pain on Friday.

The 14-time major winner appeared to be in some discomfort during his opening round on Thursday, with five bogeys leading to a disappointing five over 77 around the gusty Emirates Golf Club.

While Woods insisted he was not in pain during his post-round interviews, he withdrew from the European Tour event first thing on Friday morning, citing back issues.

Woods spent a long spell on the sides after multiple back surgeries and another serious injury hcould spell the end of an illustrious career.
