Tiger Woods reveals he has recovered from the back injury that hampered him during The Barclays last week.

Woods tweaked his back after sleeping on a soft hotel bed and the niggle played a role in his slide down the leaderboard that resulted in a 38th place finish.

Heading to the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second event in the FedExCup play-offs, Woods is happy to be back at full fitness.

“The back is good,” he said “It was nice to have the treatment there on the weekend and then have Monday off.

“It’s nice this tournament starts a little bit later, so I’ve got an extra day to kind of get some more treatment at home,” he said of the unusual Friday start.

“Yesterday(Wednesday), it felt great. I hit it really well, and had no issues at all.”

The world number three has been criticised for lacking the killer instinct to close out tournaments after he fading on a number occasions when well placed heading into the weekend’s running.

Woods rubbishes suggestions that he’s struggling in this area, maintaining that he’s had a satisfactory year despite not winning as many titles as he would have liked.

“You can’t really look at it as real bad, going on this year,” said the 36-year-old.

“At the time, most of the year, I was leading the money list, I was number one in FedExCup points and I won three times, so it’s not like it’s been that bad.”
