Who is in the field for the 2024 Paris Olympics women’s golf event
The field for the Paris Olympics women’s golf event is undoubtedly stacked, with nine of the top 10 all turning up for a shot at gold at Le Golf National.
US star and OWGR No 1 Nelly Korda stands out as the big favourite considering her incredible form in 2024.
Korda is out to become the first woman to defend the Olympic title after she won the event in Tokyo three years ago.
She has enjoyed some great highs but also some unbelievable lows this season including missing a tournament after being bitten by a dog in a cafe.
“I think I’ve gone through every emotion possible, and it’s just July,” Korda said last month in anticipation of the tournament.
“You know, I love this game. I love the bad, I love the good.
“The bad makes you appreciate the good, and that’s just how it is. It’s sports. If you care so deeply about it, you’re just going to go through the wave of the roller coaster.”
In addition to Korda, the field will feature nine other LPGA Tour winners from the current campaign.
Hannah Green (HSBC Women’s World Championship, JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro), Lydia Ko (Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions), Yuka Saso (U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally), Patty Tavatanakit (Honda LPGA Thailand), Atthaya Thitikul (Dow Championship), Lilia Vu (Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give), Amy Yang (KPMG Women’s PGA Championship), Ruoning Yin (Dow Championship), Rose Zhang (Cognizant Founders Cup) are all in the field.
Ladies European Tour winners Manon De Roey (Investec South African Women’s Open), Perrine Delacour (Dormy Open Helsingborg), Alexandra Forsterling (Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa, Amundi German Masters), Linn Grant (Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed), Hyo Joo Kim (Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Korea), Leona Maguire (Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – London), Morgane Metraux (Jabra Ladies Open), Shannon Tan (Magical Kenya Ladies Open), Patty Tavatanakit (Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF), Mariajo Uribe (Women’s NSW Open) will also turn out in the hunt for gold.
