WATCH: Throwback to Nick Faldo’s famous Belfry Ryder Cup hole in one

Nick Faldo reminisced on his famous Ryder Cup hole in one at the Belfry as he enjoyed hosting duties at the iconic venue which is staging this week’s 2024 British Masters.

Faldo hit a perfect six-iron off the tee at Belfry’s 14th hole to bag himself an ace during the 1993 Ryder Cup.

The Englishman went without a championship win at the Belfry but still has that memorable hole in one in the memory bank.

Faldo twice won the Open Championship at Muirfield and claimed his other home Major win at St Andrews. He won his only British Masters title at Woburn in 1989, the same year he captured the first of his three Masters green jackets.

He has been the host of the tournament at the Belfry since 2023.

The 1967 British Masters event provided British television with its first live hole in one, as Tony Jacklin aced the 16th hole at Royal St George’s.
