Sergio Garcia helps fan propose at Sawgrass’ famous 17th hole
Sergio Garcia took some time out from his practice round to help a fan propose to his girlfriend at TPC Sawgrass’ iconic island-green 17th on Wednesday.
The Spaniard teed off on the famous hole knowing full well he had a very special surprise nestled in his pocket in the form of a wedding ring.
After hitting his tee shot, Garcia picked Emma Baxley out of the crowd and took her on a little walk while her boyfriend, Ricardo Fonseca, ran to grab flowers and surprise them on the green.
After the proposal, which luckily for Fonseca went according to plan, Garcia then presented the happy couple with a check from The Players Championship for $20,000 to go toward their wedding.
Some of @TheSergioGarcia's most memorable moments have come at No. 17.
Now, he’s paying it forward to a family who has volunteered @THEPLAYERSChamp 44 times. 💍#LiveUnderPar pic.twitter.com/nY6RBAVOnk

Why did the Players Championship go all out for Fonseca? Because his family has a long history at TPC Sawgrass, having volunteered at the event for the last 44 years.
