Scott triumphs on home soil

A final-round 67 proved decisive as Adam Scott won the Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast by four shots.
The Masters champion shrugged off a two-hour weather delay to shoot a four-under-par 67 and complete a four-stroke victory over American Rickie Fowler.
Scott led by just one shot when the weather interrupted proceedings, but came out firing when play resumed, making an eagle and two birdies to put the result beyond doubt.
Fowler’s 68 was good enough for sole second place. After opening the tournament with superb 63 to take the early lead, the American could not quite keep up with Scott’s birdie pace over the final three days.
Young Australian trainee professional Jack Wilson had made four birdies before the weather delay to storm into contention, but the wheels came off somewhat after the break, with a disastrous double-bogey at the par-three 14th effectively relegating him to third place.
