Reed pulls out of European swing

Patrick Reed revealed on Tuesday that he will not be able to make the next two events on the European Tour.

Despite taking up membership on the European Tour, Reed has instead opted to play at the PGA Tour’s Crowne Plaza International.

“I am really looking forward to playing on the European Tour this year which makes me even more disappointed to withdraw from Wentworth and the Irish Open,” the 24-year-old is quoted as saying on

“We will not be able to travel overseas at this time. My sincere apologies go to the organisers of both events, and to the fans. Thank you all for your support.”
