Price, Haas named Cup captains

Nick Price and Jay Haas have been named captains of the international and United States teams respectively for the 2015 Presidents Cup in South Korea.

Price retains the position, having served as captain for the internationals last year, while Haas takes over from Fred Couples, who presided over the last three US victories in the biannual competition.

Haas has considerable experience himself, however, having served as a captain’s assistant three times.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the inaugural Big Cedar Lodge Legends of Golf, with PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem being joined at the presser by both captains.

The biennial competition will take place from October 6-11 next year and it will be the first time the event has been hosted in Asia.

“Nick Price and Jay Haas bring tremendous experience, enthusiasm and knowledge to The Presidents Cup and were obvious choices to captain the international and US Teams as we take the event to Asia in less than 16 months,” Finchem said.
