Phatlum takes control

Pornanong Phatlum moved into a three-shot lead after the third round of the Sime Darby LPGA tournament in Malaysia.
On a day where most of the leaders struggled to impress, the Thai star’s round of 65 was a class above. Even though she made a slightly poor return to the clubhouse – dropping shots at 12 and 16 – seven birdies on the first 10 holes helped her reach a score of 14-under with 18 holes to play.
Japanese ace Ayako Uehara is in second place on 11-under after notching a 69, while Korea’s Chella Choi (68) and Shanshan Feng (69) of China, halfway leader So Yeon Ryu (72) and New Zealand teenage sensation Lydia Ko (70) are in a tie for third another shot further behind.
Ryu seemed to be in with a chance to claim a share of the lead after moving up to 13-under at one point, but bogeys on 10, 12, 17 and 18 pegged her back.
Ariya Jutanugarn (64) carded the lowest of the day to move up to seventh place on nine-under alongside Ilhee Lee and Na Yeon Choi (both 69).
First round leader Stacy Lewis has dropped off the pace and is nine shots off the pace after following her second 71 with a 72 on Saturday.
