Love reveals Tiger’s role
Davis Love III revealed how Tiger Woods will help secure victory for Team USA at the upcoming Ryder Cup.
Team Europe travels across the pond for the much anticipated 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club, where they are looking to defend their title for the thirs time.
However, US captain Love is in the process of assembling a strong team in the hope of winning it back.
Part of the management team that will be going to Hazeltine is the not-so-secret weapon of Woods, who was also part of the PGA of America's Ryder Cup Task Force, which has but one goal: winning.
"Tiger was on the Task Force, he'll be a future Captain, so he's got to be a part of the decision-making process of this whole new Ryder Cup committee," Love told golf.com.
"Tiger is more interested in the strategy side of it…rounding out the team with picks, or making small groups, making pairings. He's our tactician more than anything."
Love added that Team USA are far more organised in the past, which he hopes will give the players the best chance at performing well over the three days.
"We have an analytics guys hired this year, we have a doctor hired this year," added the 52-year-old.
"We have a team now instead of, 'We're all going to meet in September and figure it out.'"
The 41st Ryder Cup tees off on September 30th in Chaska, Minnesota.
