Ko wins Australian Women’s Open

World number one Lydia Ko of New Zealand won the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open at Royal Melbourne on Sunday after she carded a final round of 71.
The 17-year-old began the day tied for the lead with Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn and recovered from a bogey on the first by chipping in for an eagle on the short par-four third.
Ko dropped her second shot of the day on the eight and although she responded with birdies on the 10th and 12th, Korea’s Amy Yang picked up shots on the ninth, 10th and 14th to get on level terms.
Yang then bogeyed the 15th and 17th to allow Ko to ease to victory by two shots, while Jutanugarn struggled to a closing 76 to finish three shots further back in third.
