Jang grabs Founders Cup lead

South Korean Jang Ha-Na grabbed the lead at the JTBC Founders Cup before the second round was suspended due to darkness.
Jang was sitting at 11 under par with seven holes left to play at Desert Ridge. She birdied four holes in a row to go a shot up on compatriot Kim Hyo-joo and two up on Americans Stacy Lewis and Kim Kaufman in third.
Kim and Lewis managed to reach the clubhouse with rounds of 69 and 71 respectively, while Kaufman had completed 12 holes of her second round.
World No 1 Lydia Ko was four shots back on seven under, having gone through 10 holes.
Rain halted play in Thursday’s opening round, forcing players to resume early on Friday before the second round could get under way. With much of the field still to complete their second rounds, the event is still playing catch-up.
“Everything was better today,” said leader Jang.
“I hit some very nice second shots. I gave myself birdie chances and made the putts.”
Second-placed Kim said: “I just played relaxed and I just think to myself, ‘Hit soft’. That’s the key for me.”
