Is 2025 Rory McIlroy’s year? 5 PGA Tour stars with the best win percentages

Winning regularly on the PGA Tour is one of the toughest challenges in sport, with quality fields, pressure and unpredictable course conditions making consistency such a difficult ultimate aim to achieve.

Even some of the best players on tour struggle to get over the line but a select few have managed to regularly dominate over the last 15 years.

With the 2025 season underway and a different champion at each event so far, golf fans are still none the wiser as to who may dominate the majors this year, especially with LIV players honing their games elsewhere.

Will a seasoned winner kick on and reach even greater heights? Or will a less-fancied name rise to the top?

Perhaps the answer will arrive by looking at this list: five players with the best win percentage since 2010 (at least 100 tournament starts)…

5. Victor Hovland – 5.17%

The Norwegian always seems to be in and around the top of the leaderboard at PGA Tour events with his consistent ability to find fairways helping him regularly shoot in the 60s.

As a relative Tour newcomer on the list, his win percentage is impressive; Hovland has won six PGA Tour events in his first 116 starts.

4. Justin Thomas – 6.20%

JT has always thrived under pressure as a two-time Major winner, former World No.1 and Ryder Cup specialist.

It’s been a while since he’s won though and the runner-up at The American Express last month will be desperate for another ‘W’.

Still, his 15 victories from 242 events is admirable.

3. Tiger Woods – 8.80%

Tiger has astonishing overall figures with a career winning percentage of 22.8% on the PGA Tour. That’s 82 wins out of 359 PGA Tour starts.

It’s clearly fallen since the study period of post-2010 but despite having been plagued with injuries and managing just 125 events since then, Tiger has collected a further 11 titles.

2. Scottie Scheffler – 9.92%

The current World No.1’s dominance over the last few years has been remarkable.

A shock hand injury at Christmas has stopped him so far in 2025 but the next win surely won’t be far away.

Scheffler has won 13 of his last 131 events including seven last season where he was utterly dominant on the PGA Tour.

1. Rory McIlroy – 10.98%

A four-time Major winner, McIlroy will feel he should have added to that tally having been a dominant force in golf for so long.

But winning more than one in 10 tournaments over the last 15 years highlights his remarkable consistency.

With a victory at Pebble Beach in his opening event of the season, the Northern Irishman looks in a great place to make 2025 his year.
