Inside the life of Bryson DeChambeau: net worth, girlfriend, car, golf equipment and more

There’s nobody else like him in the game.
He has nearly two million subscribers to his YouTube channel, even more Instagram followers and his video with President Trump reached over 14 million eyeballs.
He plays the game like nobody else and he’s already ticked off two Majors as he continues to solve every golfing riddle in his own unique way.
Born? DeChambeau was born on 16/9/93 in Modesto, California. He moved to Clovis when he was seven and then received a scholarship to Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he majored in physics.
Turn pro? In 2015 he became the first player from SMU to win the NCAA Individual Championship and later that year he doubled up at the US Amateur as well as playing on a losing American side in the Walker Cup at Lytham. He played in two Majors as an amateur and turned pro after the 2016 Masters where he finished as the low amateur.
First pro win? His first victory came the following summer at the John Deere Classic. It arrived on his 40th start on the PGA Tour and came courtesy of a closing 65 to edge out Patrick Rodgers by one. It also secured him a place in the following week’s Open at Royal Birkdale. The following year he won four times on Tour.
Married? For someone who lives their life so publicly at times, his personal life is kept very much behind closed doors. He has never celebrated any of his wins with a significant other or had anyone in tow at a Ryder Cup. He is rumoured to be dating Lilia Schneider, a college golfer at Marian University in Indianapolis. They have been pictured sharing a buggy at a LIV event.
Schneider has nearly 60,000 followers on Instagram but no mention of her two-time Major-winning friend. DeChambeau was previously linked to another college golfer, Hunter Nugent, but she revealed that they had parted company in 2022 and that Schneider was now with the American.
Car? DeChambeau supposedly drives a 2021 Bentley Bentayga which is known for its hand-built craftsmanship and exclusive materials. It has also been reported that he might also drive a BMW i7 or an M4 Competition.
Favourite sporting teams? DeChambeau unsurprisingly supports the Dallas Cowboys and he even teased legendary Tony Romo that Dak Prescott was his favourite Cowboys quarterback of all time in DeChambeau’s Break 50 series. The American is also a huge fan of table tennis and volleyball and played basketball, baseball and soccer before settling on golf.
Earnings? He joined LIV Golf in 2021 for a reported $125m. “I’m not gonna say the details, I mean for what’s reported it’s somewhat close,” he confirmed at the time. “It’s a four-and-a-half year deal, I can definitely tell you that and a lot of it was up front which is great. What’s cool about it though is that I’ve already put it in places that make sense, whether it’s my foundation or real estate, being able to build a multi-sport complex or taking care of my family, taking care of what we’ve got going on with our content creation with Regecy, numerous other things too.”
His on-course earnings currently sit around the $35m mark for both LIV and the PGA Tour. He also has deals with the likes of Reebok, Rolex, LA Golf and Avoda 3D-printed irons.
Equipment? Where to start? All of his irons and wedges are cut to the same length – 37.5 inches – with the lie and bounce angles the same. He also uses carbon graphite shafts on all his clubs with Jumbo Max grips.
Renowned for his prodigious hitting he uses a driver, a Krank Formula Fire LD, which is more associated with long-driving contests. This has a ridiculous loft of 5˚ and he also has the same 3 and 5-woods in the bag with all three having the LA Golf Bryson series shafts in them.
His irons – the Avodo Golf Prototype Single Length – begin with the 5-iron that has a loft of just 17˚, so similar to a 2-iron, and they feature a curved face to reap the benefits of gear effect, something that is more often seen in woods.
As for his wedges, the Ping Glide 4.0, these are all fairly standard, other than the length. They feature lofts of 45, 56 and 60˚ and they all have the LA Golf Bryson Series shafts which are also in the irons.
DeChambeau went to the armlock putter in 2017 and he employs a SIK Pro C-Series putter, with a heavy LA Golf shaft. Here the sweet spot is towards the heel due to the weight of the shaft. He uses a Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash ball having previously used a Bridgestone Tour B X but that contract ended when he moved to LIV.
Biggest achievement? Aside from shaking up the game like few others his second US Open at Pinehurst No.2 in 2024 was something else. As Rory McIlroy crumbled over the closing holes, DeChambeau played a quite brilliant long bunker shot from 50 yards to save par and edge out the Northern Irishman. Seemingly on a charm offensive all week he became the second LIV golfer, after Brooks Koepka, to land a big one.
