How far Scottie Scheffler hits each club

Scottie Scheffler carries his golf bag

In 2024 Scottie Scheffler was a golfing machine, winning seven times on the PGA Tour including a second Masters Green Jacket in three years.

The 28-year-old (I know) also won the Tour Championship, The Players, Arnold Palmer, RBC Heritage, Memorial and The Travelers and there was also an Olympic gold to add to the CV.

Even after Xander Schauffele’s two-Major season, Scheffler is still over six points ahead of his countryman on the world rankings and over eight points clear of Rory McIlroy.

And, while the swing remains the same, the clubs do too.

While some players will tinker, Scheffler has stuck with the same bag set-up throughout, all of which helped him to record the lowest scoring average (68.0) in PGA Tour history.

Other eye-catching stats include..

– He was the first player to lead the stats in Greens in Regulation (73%) and Putting Average (1.69)

– 1st in Scoring Average, SG: Total, SG: Approach, SG Tee to Green, Birdie Average, Par 4 and Par 5 Scoring Average

Overall, he led the PGA Tour in 40+ major statistical categories.

Last season Scheffler led the Tour in SG: Off the Tee with the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus+ but this year he has become even more accurate with his Qi10 driver.

Only Ludvig Aberg would better him in the Total Driving stats and, while he ‘only’ averages 303.8 yards (70th) off the tee, he’s on the short stuff even more.

In Approach Play he obviously dazzles, gaining nearly half a shot on the second best player on Tour and he’s top of various wedge categories.

A neat comparison to demonstrate his elite iron play is that Scheffler is only just down (73 to 75%) on Tiger Woods’ epic 2000 season – the one where he won three of the four Majors.

Everything in Scheffler’s bag is TaylorMade except for his two Srixon driving irons and Titleist Vokey wedges.

There is only one fairway wood in the bag, instead relying on his Srixon 3 and 4-irons to cover anything from around 226 to 245 yards.

On the greens the American relies on a TaylorMade Spider Tour X L-Neck putter, which he switched to this year, and the Titleist Pro V1 ball.
