Henderson handed LPGA Tour card

Brooke Henderson has become a fully fledged member of the LPGA Tour, two days after winning her maiden title at the Cambia Portland Classic.

The 17-year-old has been granted a waiver to join the Tour, despite not yet being 18, the minimum age requirement on the LPGA Tour.

LPGA commissioner Mike Whan granted Henderson membership after denying her request for a waiver last year.

“After reviewing Brooke Henderson’s petition, I have granted her LPGA Tour membership beginning immediately,” Whan said in a statement.

“Brooke truly earned her card, and we are looking forward to Brooke joining our Tour and our family.”

Lydia Ko and Lexi Thompson are the only other players who have been granted membership prior to turning 18.
