Dunne can’t wait for Pebble Beach

Paul Dunne admits he is really buzzing over the chance to compete in the upcoming AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California.

The 23-year-old Irishman will be making his debut on the PGA Tour when he tees it up at the event next month.

Dunne made headlines last year when he found himself in a share of the lead heading into the final round of the Open Championship. He was still an amateur at the time.

He has since turned pro, coming through Qualifying School to earn a Category 16 European Tour card, which doesn't guarantee him starts in Europe.

Dunne earned an invite to the Pebble Beach Pro-Am by virtue of his stellar college career at the University of Alabama, and admits he can barely wait to take part.

"It's an exciting opportunity for me to play in a world-class field on one of the world's best golf courses," he said. "I've only walked Pebble. It's amazing.

"I'm playing the first two European Tour events in South Africa, but my category gets me into no desert events so we will see."
