Dufner and Kuchar withdraw

Defending US PGA champion Jason Dufner and Matt Kuchar have pulled out of the final Major of the year.
Just ten days after he had an epidural for an arthritic neck condition, Dufner teed off in the opening round at Valhalla.
Unfortunately, he struggled to eight over par and walked off the course after a triple bogey on the par five tenth.
“I’ve been feeling pretty bad all week,” Dufner told the Chicago Tribune.
“I felt bad last week. I haven’t made a birdie in 45 holes, and I’m just not able to play golf right now. I don’t need to be out here. I tried to do what I could to compete some, but it’s just pointless.”
Meanwhile, Matt Kuchar waited until tee time on Thursday before he decided that he wasn’t fit enough tom play, citing a sore back.
