Day could miss The Open

Jason day is in doubt for the Open Championships due to his reoccurring thumb injury.
The Australian was suffering from a thumb injury in the lead up to this year’s Masters but opted to play through the injury.
The disappointment of finishing tied for 20th at Augusta was made worse by the fact that the injury would now take longer to heal.
The world number six stayed off the course for over a month, only teeing up at the Memorial Tournament in the first week of June.
The current WGC Accenture Match Play Champion fared well at the second Major of the year, finishing tied for fourth behind a dominating Martin Kaymer who lead from start to finish.
Day would miss his first cut of the year after a pair of 73’s set him back at last week’s Quicken Loans National at a tough Congressional course.
Now, he will miss this week’s Greenbrier Classic because his thumb has flared up yet again. This casts doubt on whether the two time PGA tour winner will be able to tee-off at Royal Liverpool in two weeks time.
