Clarke confirms EurAsia Cup picks

Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter have been added to Europe’s team for January’s EurAsia Cup in Malaysia, captain Darren Clarke has confirmed.
The pair will join Clarke’s 12-man line-up as captain’s picks as Europe hope to win the second edition of the tournament, which was tied in its inaugural year in 2014.
Westwood and Poulter will come into the ranks alongside Ross Fisher, Victor Dubuisson, Kristoffer Broberg, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Andy Sullivan, Danny Willett, Chris Wood, Soren Kjeldsen, Shane Lowry and Bernd Wiesberger.
"We have a very young and exciting team heading to Malaysia in January, and to add the vast experience of Ian and Lee into the mix gives us a very strong and balanced side as we look to take the EurAsia Cup trophy back to Europe,” said Clarke, who will also captain Europe at the Ryder Cup next year.
"Having played in a total of 14 Ryder Cups, Ian and Lee have proven themselves two of the most fearsome match players in the game and their presence in the team room and their ability to share their vast knowledge of the European team environment will be hugely important for us in Malaysia."
The EurAsia Cup pits the best players from the European Tour against their counterparts on the Asian Tour, with Indian Jeev Milkha Singh due to announce his Team Asia line-up next week.
