Revealed: Scheffler tops 2025 PGA Tour money list as McIlroy slips to third place

Three golfers celebrate winning large sums of prize money this year.
Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun and Justin Thomas are among the highest earners of 2025.

The 2025 PGA Tour season has seen over $400 million claimed across the year, with several of the field cashing in through utter golfing dominance.

From serial Major champions to season-long grafters, many of the Tour’s top stars have encountered significant hikes in earnings this year.

We look at the biggest 2025 earners as the full 2025 PGA Tour prize money rankings are revealed…

1. Scottie Scheffler (USA) – $26,579,550

  • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 5

The world number one has had another dominant season in 2025 with three PGA Tour event wins and two Major titles.

Wins at The CJ Cup, Byron Nelson, PGA Championship, Memorial, The Open and BMW Championship through his consistent ruthlessness made him the highest earner this year.

2. Tommy Fleetwood (ENG) – $18,496,238

  • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 1

Tommy Fleetwood’s long-awaited maiden PGA Tour win came at the Tour Championship and with it a huge $10 million cheque.

It took him 164 PGA Tour starts to claim his first crown, and it happened to be the most lucrative event of the 2025 season.

3. Rory McIlroy (NIR) – $16,992,418

  • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 3

McIlroy put an emphasis on his rest and recovery in the 2025 season, not playing as many events but still winning three titles and finally completing his awaited Career Grand Slam.

He started the season hot with wins at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the regular season’s most lucrative regular season event, The Players Championship.

He then completed the highlight of 2025 with his Master’s win and Green Jacket at Augusta National.

4. Russell Henley (USA) – $14,633,556

  • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 1

Henley had a lucrative season and has truly played himself into Ryder Cup contention.

His victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational was backed up with further gritty performances as his dependable putting helped him nearly rack up $15million in 2o25.

5. J.J. Spaun (USA) – $12,892,722

  • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 1

Spaun has undoubtedly been the breakout star of the season, but he will rue playoff defeats at The Players Championship and FedEx St. Jude Championship.

However, his dream year was capped off by a captivating U.S. Open win at the notoriously difficult Oakmont Country Club.

6. Justin Thomas (USA) – $10,833,495

    • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 1

While still a mixed season for Thomas, there were periods where he was undoubtedly at his Major-winning best, namely his clutch RBC Heritage win.

There are still plenty of areas JT will be looking to improve, but it’s an improvement from his struggles of 2024 and a good earning season.

    7. Sepp Straka (AUT) – $10,650,894

    • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 2

The Austrian was, at times, unplayable in 2025, with his two wins at The American Express and Truist Championship bringing in the cash.

Consistency was the name of the game for Straka, who was ever-present in the top half of the leaderboards in the heart of the season.

    8. Ben Griffin (USA) – $9,990,352

    • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 2

Griffin claimed two wins this season, including a shared victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans team event and a classy Charles Schwab Challenge win.

He played in more events than most and ground out large prize payouts with relentless consistency.

    9. Patrick Cantlay (USA) – $9,405,106

    • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 0

Patrick Cantlay has had a positive season with frequent top 10s, though he hasn’t managed an event win in 2025.

A T2 second place at the Tour Championship at East Lake earned him over $4million in that event alone.

    10. Justin Rose (ENG) – $8,857,976

    • 2025 PGA Tour wins: 1

Justin Rose is still in the top 10 of all PGA Tour earners at the age of 45 and is an automatic Ryder Cup qualifier.

His win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he pipped fellow countryman Fleetwood, was an example of Rose’s enduring class.
