If your hook or slice, think about using a harder ball (often marked distance) that spins less.
On the other hand, if you tend to hit your balls too low, it might be better to switch to a softer ball with more spin that gets up in the air quicker and easier.
If you need to find better control around the greens with your chipper and putter, soft balls will also help here.
But perhaps the best thing you can do before making any drastic shift in your choice of ball is to talk to you local pro.
