Matt Cooper has been interviewing golfers from all over the world about the FIFA World Cup. Here’s what they said.

The World Cup is one of sport’s greatest festivals and the best golfers in the world will be enjoying it as much as anyone else.
We talked to players from around the world, to find who they are tipping to lift the famous trophy, win the golden boot and reveal their favourite World Cup memory.

How will Germany fare? Semi-finals
Who will win? Holland

Player most excited about seeing?Cristiano Ronaldo
Favourite World Cup memory? The opening match of the 2006 World Cup in Germany when we scored in the last stages to defeat Poland.
Quote: “Germany expects a lot in team competitions so the semis is what we hope for. But we are without our captain Michael Ballack so it will be tough.”
FRANCESCO MOLINARI, ITALY (Inter Milan fan)
How will Italy fare? Semi-finals
Who will win? Argentina

Player most excited about seeing? Diego Milito
Favourite World Cup memory? Italy winning four years ago and our team spirit.
Quote: “The last time we won was in 1982 which was the year I was born so four years ago was great.”

Favourite World Cup memory? 1986 when Denmark had a great squad and did really well.
Quote: “Although 1986 was my favourite Danish memory, I am a bit odd and like defensive Italian football. I love the way they soak up pressure and then pounce.”

Favourite World Cup memory? France winning the 1998 World Cup!
Quote: “I think we have many very fine players but not a fine team. We are a poor team. I don’t mind Domenech, but something is not right about the mix.”

Favourite World Cup memory? When, in 1994, Italy beat Spain 2-1 and Luis Enrique’s nose was broken by Mauro Tassotti.

Favourite World Cup memory? Err, France winning the World Cup in 1998 because I went to a few games including the semi-final.
