Woodland rockets in Rankings

Gary Woodland, who was 591st in the world rankings in January, has rocketed to 53rd after his victory on Sunday.
Gary Woodland, who was 591st in the world rankings in Januray, has rocketed to 53rd after his victory in the US PGA Tour’s Transitions Championship at Copperhead on Sunday.
And Frenchman Raphael Jacquelin, winner of the European Tour’s inaugural Sicilian Open on Monday morning, has moved from 116th to 84th.
There were no changes at the top of the World Rankings list this week with Martin Kaymer, who finished 20th in the Transitions Championship still at No 1.
Three more Europeans are immediately behind him with Lee Westwood in second place, Luke Donald third and Graeme McDowell third.
The US’s Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are 5th and 6th, but sandwhiched in between them and fellow Americans Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker in 9th and 10th place are two more Brits in England’s Paul Casey and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy at 7th and 8th.
They bring to six the number of European golfers in the World Top 10 right now with the USA having the other four.
Here are the top 100 names on the latest Official World Golf Rankings after the list was updated on Monday
