If your ball comes in high and slams into a bunker the chances are that you will fund it imbedded in the sand.

If your ball comes in high and slams into a bunker the chances are that you will fund it imbedded in the sand.
Because it is plugged you won’t be able to slide your sandwedge under it and blast it out in the normal manner.
Try instead to use what is known in colder climes as the ‘snowplow’ method to get it out.
This involves squaring up the face of your wedge rather than opening it at address.
Hold the club firmly and hit behind the ball so that the club effectively pushes the ball out of the bunker on a layer of sand.
But beware, the ball will have a lot of run when it hits the green
