When to read and not to talk

Stop talking and start focusing on the green as you walk towards it.
Stop talking and start focusing on the green as you walk towards it.
You eyes should be taking in the overall setting to get an idea of slope, the wind factor, where water may drain and other things like if there are mountains and water in the vicinity.
If there are, the ball will tend to break away from the mountains and towards the water.
Also look at the grass itself. If it is shiny, the grain will be with you and fast just as it will be slower if you are hitting into the grain.
Walk along your line looking for subtle little deviations that may affect the line of your roll because when you put together all these observations, it should help you hole more putts.
