Recently-divorced Tiger Woods has found a new lair in New York’s down-town Manhattan – it has been reported, but there has been no confirmation that the apartment is to become his permanent new home.
Reports that Tiger is moving his base away from Florida where he owns more than one home and where ex-wife Elin Nordegren and their two children, Sam, 3, and Charlie, 18th months, live, have been sparked by a report in the Us Magazine that claimed he was spotted moving into a Manhattan apartment at the weekend.
The magazine also claimed that a resident had told them Woods had “introducing himself as the new neighbour”.
The World’s number one golfer had been playing this weekend in The Barclays, the first leg of the FedEx Cup, in nearby New Jersey where he had lead the first round, but had then slipped back to finish in a tie for 12th.
The reports of his likely move to the glitter of the Big Apple come almost a week after his divorce from Nordegren became final with Nordegren reportedly receiving a settlement of $100m from his $600m estate
The world’s most famous sporting celebrity’s marriage famously ran into trouble shortly after Thanksgiving night last year when he crashed his SUV outside his Florida home near Orlando and it led to widespread disclosures that he had been having a string of extra-marital affairs.
