Storm hits the front

Latest news from the second round of the Omega European Masters being played at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland.
Four birdies in his first five holes has swept England’s Graeme Storm into the early second-round lead at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.
After teeing off in Friday morning’s second round in joint second place, one behind 17-year-old Italian Matteo Manassero, Storm promptly moved from six under par to 10 under.
But the player he least wanted to see in his rear-view mirror was the one who was there – last week’s winner Edoardo Molinari, who, in the meantime, had birdied three of the first four holes over on the back nine to climb to eight under.
Molinari’s victory in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles had been followed an hour later by a wild card call into Europe’s Ryder Cup team, the new world number 15 being preferred both to eighth-ranked Paul Casey and two-time US Tour winner Justin Rose.
This is the 29-year-old Italian’s last event before the Celtic Manor clash on October 1-3 and after 23 holes he had yet to drop a shot.
Compatriot Manassero, among the later starters had not yet teed off and had been joined on seven under by Finn Mikko Ilonen who resumed with a birdie four.
