Seve tribute event a big success

The Seve Ballesteros Foundation helped raise almost £340,000 from a tribute event held at London’s Natural History Museum.
The Seve Ballesteros Foundation helped raise almost £340,000 from a tribute event held at London’s Natural History Museum earlier in the week.
During the night, the audience was treated to footage of Seve from the BBC archives and a Q&A session with Sandy Lyle and Jose Maria Olazabal.
Seve’s daugher Carmen also spoke about her late father, who passed away of brain cancer in May.
The money was raised through an auction held on the night. Some of the top lots included a VIP trip to next year’s Ryder Cup and a stay in Jutin Rose’s Bahamas villa.
In all, the foundation, in partnership with Cancer Research UK, has now raised more than £2 million since its creation in 2009.
