FootJoy, has announced the introduction of the ReelFit range of golf shoes, which they claim is the latest breakthrough in golf shoe technology.
ReelFit shoes feature the innovative Boa Lacing System which provides the most precise fit and in turn ensures greater comfort and stability throughout the golf swing.
Each pair of ReelFit shoes uses nearly two feet of adjustable steel micro-cable and a proven tension lacing system, ensuring the ultimate fit will not loosen during the round.
Though new to golf, the Boa Lacing System is being used in a good many other sports where high performance footwear is an essential ingredient.
Snowboarding is one, ice hockey and cycle are two others.
But at this stage Boa Technology will be exclusive to FootJoy in the golfing industry and it means that only Footjoy golf shoes will be able to offer a system that has a exceptional ease-of-use benefit among many others.
You just turn the dial on the back of the shoes to tighten them, and pull out the dial for quick release and removal of shoes, the market is being told.
“We are thrilled to be the first to market this unique technology in golf. It’s a performance product will have a dramatic effect on consumers’ golf shoe expectations in the future,” said Jeremy Baldwin, Director of Product Management at FootJoy.
In addition to the unique lacing system, ReelFit shoes, say Footjoy, “are loaded with other features including premium waterproof ECL Leather by Pittards of England, full leather linings, cushioned PU Fit-Beds, and GelCollar with IntelliTemp cooling”.
ReelFit’s “high-performance TPU Outsole is sculpted to offer tremendous stability throughout the golf swing and the strategically placed OptiFlex Technology under the forefoot allows for extra flexibility”.
“The ReelFit shoes have been engineered to provide an unparalleled fit and stable hitting platform,” said Jack Erickson, Vice President of Golf Footwear, worldwide.
“The Boa Lacing System envelops your feet resulting in a consistent fit that shoes with laces simply can not duplicate.”
The new FootJoy ReelFit range is expected to be in the US stores before Christmas, but will only start to be shipped to Europe in January 2007 and will come in four different styles each retailing at around £149.95.
