Puerto Rico Open rolls into Monday

The Puerto Rico Open will continue into Monday and possibly beyond after more bad weather.
The Puerto Rico Open will continue into Monday and possibly beyond after another day of bad weather in Rio Grande.
The leaders had only finished five holes of their third rounds before play was suspended due to darkness with organisers still trying to make up for time lost to heavy rain.
It left Chad Collins, who finished round two with a one-shot lead, tied at the top with Kevin Streelman on 12 under par, a shot clear of Derek Lamely, Steve Wheatcroft and Kris Blanks.
Collins still has 13 holes to play of his third round while Streelman has 11. Lamely, Wheatcroft and Blanks had played 13, six and seven holes respectively of their third rounds.
In a bunched leaderboard, 25 players are within four shots of the lead although they don’t include a single European.
The leading Euros – Swedes Peter Gustafsson and Carl Pettersson and Norwegian Henrik Bjornstad – are five back, as is John Daly.
Daly will have wished Sunday’s play could have continued. He was tearing the course up with five birdies in his opening eight holes and a birdie at the par five 18th away from a first nine 30.
