Poulter “disgusted” by performance

Ian Poulter took to his twitter account to vent after his second-round performance at the Ballantine’s Championship.

Ian Poulter took to his twitter account to communicate his displeasure with his second-round performance at the Ballantine’s Championship.

The Englishman opened with a disappointing two-over-par 74 on Thursday, and needed to put a good round together to ensure he would still be around for the weekend, but it was not to be.

He could only manage a level-par 72 that, despite featuring three birdies and an eagle on the 18th, was also marked by three bogeys and a horror double-bogey on the long 15th.

It’s been the story for Poulter all season, as he’s struggled to find any real consistency in his game, with a poor showing around the greens once again proving his undoing at the Blackstone Golf Club.

Though he plans to work hard on his game in the coming weeks, he was clearly not satisfied with his showing this week.

“Disgusted to miss the cut in Korea today,” Poulter tweeted. “It’s beyond pathetic, the harder I try at the minute the worse it is.

“This game keeps you guessing.”

However, his spirits seemed to improve somewhat, as he tweeted again an hour later: “Just watching the royal wedding on CNN it’s pretty amazing.

“Kate is looking great and people are out to support.”
