Ping’s latest range of Redwood putters as used by Lee Westwood in this year’s Ryder Cup, are now available to the man in the street.

Ping’s latest range of Redwood putters as first used with great success by Lee Westwood in this year’s Ryder Cup, are now available to the man in the street.
Named after the Californian city where the late, great Karsten Solheim set up his first design and engineering shop in the 1950s when he was developing the world’s first heel-toe weighted putters that were to make him famous, the new Redwood range features three of the company’s classic models.
They are the Zing, Anser and Piper S which have all been milled from 3003 stainless steel to ensure that their classically-shaped heads all have confidence-building, flowing clean lines.
The range has slightly heavier-than-standard heads designed specifically to enhance swing feel and promote a more solid strike and to make them standouts they come with distinctive AVS Redwood multi-textured grips.
Identical to the Redwood putters being carried in the bags of Westwood, Spanish star Miguel Angel Jimenez and several other Ping staffers, they are available in both right and left-hand versions and together with stylish new red and black head covers, came at a recommended price of £190 in Britain.
