Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo failed in his bid to qualify for the Byron Nelson Championship.
The Pro Bowl signal caller was among the golfers trying to earn a spot during the pre-qualifying event at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney on Tuesday.
Romo, who had failed to qualify for the US Open after shooting 80 on Monday, shot a 79 on Tuesday.
But it could have been so much better as his hopes of moving on to the next stage of qualifying were scuppered by a triple bogey on 16 – according to The Dallas Morning News.
He then bogeyed both 17 and 18 to complete a disastrous finish.
Before that Romo had been two over with three holes to play and in contention to finish in the top 23 and move on to the next round.
