Langer leads at Carnoustie

Former European Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer will take a three-shot lead into the final round of the Senior Open.
Former European Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer out-scored the current United States skipper Corey Pavin to take a three-shot lead into the final round of the Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie.
The two-time Masters winner began the day tied with his American rival on four under par but the German carded a two-under 69 to his opponents’ 72 to open up an advantage.
Langer is seeking his first senior major title after seven top-10 finishes while Pavin is playing in his first over-50s event since reaching the landmark last November.
Fred Funk made a significant move up into a tie for third on three under after a best-of-the-day 67.
Another Ryder Cup captain and major winner Ian Woosnam is also among that number after a one-over 72.
