Kim accepts Open invite

American Anthony Kim has accepted his invitation to next week’s Open Championship.
American Anthony Kim has accepted his invitation to next week’s Open Championship.
After South African Tim Clark pulled out of the event due to ongoing problems with tendinitis in his elbow, his spot automatically went to Kim as the first reserve.
Kim, who was forced to miss the Open last year due to surgery to his thumb, has accepted the opportunity and will be in the starting field come Thursday next week.
This leaves England’s Simon Dyson and Dane Thomas Bjorn, who was runner up at the Open last time it was held at Royal St. George’s, as the first two reserves.
Both players are at Castle Stuart for the Scottish Open this week, and could qualify even if there aren’t any more withdrawals, provided they finish in the top-five.
