Kaymer keen to play with Westwood

Euro rookie Martin Kaymer says he would love to play alongside Lee Westwood in this week’s Ryder Cup.
The German makes his Ryder Cup debut at Celtic Manor, and having the world number three alongside him certainly appeals to him.
Many have commented that the duo would make a fearsome partnership to face the Americans, and Colin Montgomerie obviously agrees.
The pair went out together on Tuesday morning’s first practice session, and US PGA champion Kaymer admits Westwood would be a dream partner.
Kaymer says he would feel comfortable alongside a number of Europe’s players, but Westwood appears to be his favourite pick.
“I told them I could see myself with a few players, of course I will play with everybody, but I think every player has his favourites,” Kaymer told Sky Sports News.
“So I could see myself playing with Luke, Rory or Lee Westwood and that would be nice.”
Kaymer believes home advantage could make the difference in what many believe will be a tight encounter at Celtic Manor.
“Well we are in Europe, it’s our home course – if you want to say that – and with the help of the fans and the media, I think we will have a good chance.”
