Australian Brendan Jones bested South Korean I.J. Jang in a play-off to win The Crowns on Sunday.

This is Jones’ 10th Japan Tour title, and he won it thanks to an even-par 70, which proved good enough to send him into the play-off after leading by two heading into Sunday’s final round.

It was all over on the first play-off hole, the par-four 18th, where Jones sank a six-foot birdie putt to take the win.

“I was thinking about that over the putt,” Jones said.

“I knew that it was for my 10th win, and I’m just so happy that it went in.”

Jang shot a two-under 68 on Sunday to tie for the lead at 9-under 271, but his par on the first play-off hole didn’t prove enough on the day.

Jones earns $US295,000 for his win, his first on the Japan Tour since claiming the Asia-Pacific Panasonic Open in September 2010.

Defending champion Ryo Ishikawa couldn’t repeat his final-day heroics from last year, where he shot a record 58 to take seize an unlikely victory.

A double-bogey on the par-four 12th effectively ended his challenge.
