1) He’s been the halfway leader in his last three starts on the European Tour – the Austrian Golf Open, the Vivendi Cup and the Dunhill Links Championship.
2) He’s won 422,025 Euro in his last two starts – a win at the Vivendi Cup (204,160) and a third in the Dunhill (217,865).
3) He’s 40th in the Race To Dubai standings (the top 60 qualify for the Dubai World Championship at the Jumeirah Golf Estates – November 25-28 – and a shot at the US$7,500,000 Bonus Pool).
4) John supports Birmingham City (his family are originally from there). He has a team, ‘Parry Town’, entered in the 2010/11 Sky Sports.com Fantasy Football comp. His current line-up is: Howard, Bale, Baines, Sagna, Warnock, Gerrard, Malouda, Nani, Y Toure, Drogba, Berbatov.

10) He travels and shares a room with Gary Boyd (fourth at the Dunhill) when out on Tour.

What he did with his Vivendi winnings: “I bought a Vauxhall Astra. I would have bought something a bit nicer, but I’ve only just learnt to drive, so the insurance companies don’t seem to like me at the minute.”
On who would win the Ryder Cup: “I haven’t got any clue. I don’t really watch any American golf so I don’t really know half the team.”
