I’ll be fit for TPC – Poulter

Ian Poulter has targeted a return to action at The Players Championship in two weeks, according to his Twitter account.
Ian Poulter has targeted a return to action at The Players Championship in two weeks, according to messages posted on his Twitter account.
The world number six, who won his first tournament in the United States in February at the WGC-Accenture Match Play, was The Players’ runner-up behind Henrik Stenson at Sawgrass in Florida last year.
The Englishman was forced to withdraw from this week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Wednesday with a left knee injury which he later revealed had been caused by playing basketball.
Poulter reported today he had undergone an MRI scan yesterday that had shown fluid on the knee.
“Great news, folks, the new is healthy, just fluid on the knee from jumping too much, will be fit and strong for TPC, big relief,” Poulter posted.
He later added: “Had some rehab this morning on the knee, some swimming pool walking this afternoon, start hitting some balls Monday I think.”
