Furyk set to join TaylorMade

Jim Furyk will endorse TaylorMade golf equipment next year, his agent, Andrew Whitlieb, has confirmed.
Jim Furyk will endorse TaylorMade golf equipment next year, his agent, Andrew Whitlieb, has confirmed.
Whitlieb told Golfweek that the Fed-Ex Cup and US PGA Tour Player of the Year award winner is set to sign a deal with TaylorMade that will involve him using some of their equipment and also appearing in their 2011 print and TV advertising campaigns.
In terms of his contract, Furyk will play with a TaylorMade driver – something he has been doing all season – and a TaylorMade ball, but will be allowed, if he wishes, to continue using Srixon irons and Callaway wedges if he believes that making too many changes night disrupt his game.
His contract with Srixon expires on December 31 of this year, so clearly Furyk, who had not won for a year or two before this season when he won three US PGA Tournaments, including the Tour championship, got his timing just right.
Without quoting any figures, Whitlieb said that apart from the lucrative new deal with TaylorMade, he was close to closing further endorsement deals for Furyk involving his golf bag, the front and sides of his cap and his shirt and shirt collar.
