The 22-year-old from Bridgend claimed five birdies in her first eight holes as she blazed through the front nine at the Emirates Golf Club in 31 shots.
Bogeys at the ninth and 10th were Hall’s only blips and she ended her round with two more birdies at the 17th and 18th for a five-under-par 67.
That took her to seven under overall, one shot better than Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist who shot a four-under 68 today.
Iben Tinning of Denmark was third at this stage, two shots behind Hall, while England’s Melissa Reid, Marianne Skarpnord of Norway and Russian Maria Verchenova are tied for fourth at four under.
Verchenova needs a top-20 finish this week to avoid having to go through the Ladies European Tour’s qualifying school.
