ECCO UNLEASHES ULTRA PERFORMANCE

ECCO, has announced the launch of its most advanced golf shoe to date, the new, athletically styled ‘Ultra Performance’.
Standout Danish shoe manufacturer, ECCO, has announced the launch of its most advanced golf shoe to date, the new, athletically styled ‘Ultra Performance’.
Spearheading the 2009 ECCO Men’s Golf Collection, Ultra Performance, ECCO claim, “is a striking looking golf shoe that showcases a standard of excellence and technical sophistication unique to ECCO”.
Built around a tried and tested anatomical last that encapsulates the foot, Ultra Performance combines a cushioned, three-component insole unit and a PU Lite wrap-around system for unparalleled comfort and midsole support.
Maximum playability is further guaranteed by a lightweight outsole with stability islands made from soft density flex areas and hard density traction zones, providing serious players with maximum stability, traction and flexibility.
“Comfort and performance are about more than features and benefits; they are a fundamental part of the ECCO philosophy,” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO.
“Ultra Performance is a result of our completely unique processes, starting from designs built around the human foot and continuing through manufacturing entirely at ECCO-owned factories. The results are evidenced by this extraordinary golf shoe.”
Stefan Guest, Lead Designer, ECCO Golf, added: “Our desire was to create a shoe that screamed out performance, but in addition to that we wanted to find a way for the shoe to actually improve the golf swing.
“In the Ultra Performance we have created a shoe that provides the perfect combination of incredible torsional stability and stunning aesthetics.”
Ultra Performance will be worn on Tour in 2009 by Australian PGA Tour star Aaron Baddeley and a host of other staff players.
ECCO men’s golf shoes are worn in competition by some of the biggest names in golf including; Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, Stuart Appleby, Thomas Bjorn, Arjun Atwal, Thongchai Jaidee and John Bickerton.
Ultra Performance will be available in three colour options, Black, White and a stunning Buffed Silver with a suggested retail price of £150.
